Since starting this site back in April 2014, I’ve been looking out for a theme or idea for a project, something that I can be getting on with while out on the streets doing my usual bad photography. Then one evening, I did a page called Satisfying Bad Selfies, that included a few “selfies” or self portraits taken over the past few months. And this was the theme I decided to go for. It was actually the ideal theme. It would be challenging to keep it varied and not do the same old thing all the time and it would also give me a break from pointing the camera at other people. A little light relief, as it were.
Bad Selfies are essentially photographs of yourself taken by yourself. They can be reflections in the glass of a shop window, your reflection in a mirror and so on. Your own shadow is also considered a selfie. You can also hold you camera at arms length and point it towards yourself but I find that having your own arm in shot all the times does tend to become rather boring after a while.
